We know too well the nutritional value of breast milk, but we may not be aware how it helps in the development of the muscles and bone in the facial region.

Muscle plays a very important role in development of the bone where it is located. Just after a baby is born the sucking reflex starts. The baby will latch onto the soft breast with the action of the muscle around the mouth and tongue which helps in the growth and function of the muscle and bone. When the baby sucks the soft breast is placed on the hard palate and the tongue presses against it so a lot more muscle activity takes place and it is this action which helps in the development of muscles and bone of the jaw and face.
